The Most Rare UFC Sports Cards: From Limited Editions To Autographed Cards
UFC sports cards commemorate fighters and events, and their value has risen greatly over the years. If you’re wondering about their card prices, rarity, and what the most expensive UFC card may be, then you’ve come to the right place.
Official UFC Sports Card Brands
Official UFC sports cards first appeared in the 2000s, with the Round One UFC collection by Topps sports cards. Topps produced cards for only a few years, and some of those early cards have really shot up in value.
Topps maintained a relationship with UFC until 2021 when Panini sports cards took over. Panini now holds exclusive rights to print official UFC cards.
Rare & Limited Edition Cards
Rare sports cards may result from a limited production run, high popularity, or some other factor. With rarity comes increased value, and the following UFC fighters have some of the most hard-to-find and the most expensive UFCcards in the sports card market today.
Conor McGregor
This one shouldn’t be a surprise, but Conor McGregor's huge fan base has made several of his cards skyrocket in value. This has given Conor McGregor a special place on the list of high-value and rare UFC cards.
The most sought-after sports cards in this fighter’s UFC career include the following:
- 2017 Topps UFC Chrome Superfractor: This card commemorates wins over two opponents, lightweight titleist Eddie Alvarez and Nate Diaz, who had knocked Conor out in a previous fight in 2016. This 1/1, PSA 10 card sold for $73,800 by Goldin Co. in 2021, which makes it the most expensive UFC card ever sold.
- 2021 Panini Prizm UFC Gold: This sports card is part of the first official UFC collection printed by Panini. A Conor McGregor gold Prizm card with a PSA rating of 10 was sold at auction for $26,400 by Goldin.
- 2013 Topps UFC Bloodlines: Conor McGregor sports cards from this collection are valued at over $20,000 in many current online auctions. This card is famous due to his status as a rookie at the time.
Khabib Nurmagomedov
With the exception of one technical defeat by Conor McGregor, this (essentially) undefeated UFC fighter’s success is reflected in the value of his 2021 Panini Select UFC Signatures Black Disco Prizm card. This ungraded, rare UFC card brought in $24,000 when it appeared at an auction. It may be the most expensive UFC card with a Russian mixed martial artist.
That’s not the only Khabib Nurmagomedov card from Panini to skyrocket to celebrity heights. Khabib is featured in the 2022 Panini Immaculate Collection with high-end autographed relic cards currently valued at nearly $10,000. An auto patch card from this collection is reported to have sold for more than $17,000 at an eBay auction.
Famous Rivals
Famous rivalries and matches have generated many great cards, and a rivalry can give any sports card a good chance to one day attain the title of the most expensive UFC card. Limited edition production runs can also help. One such card is the 2009 Topps UFC Round 2 Anderson Silva / Lyoto Machida dual autograph relic card. Aside from being printed in a limited run of 25, this card’s prominent features include autographs from both fighters and a mat relic. The lucky possessors of such a rare UFC card in mint condition might expect to sell it for top prices to interested collectors.
Other high-value cards can be found in the 2012 Topps UFC Knockout collection. These sports cards commemorate multiple fighters with the Triple Thread series. With or without signatures, these cards may be considered rare and valuable, judging by current asking prices on eBay. Whether or not someone purchases them will determine if they get close to ranking as the most expensive UFC card.
Signed Joe Rogan
No, he’s not a champion fighter, but he has a high-value card in the 2009 Topps UFC Round 1 collection.
Joe Rogan was a color commentator for the UFC. This card is unique due to the subject, and an autographed Joe Rogan silver card may sell for more than $6,000.
